PLAN FOR ORGANIZING THE PRELIMINARY AND FINAL ROUNDS OF THE FACULTY-LEVEL STUDENT SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH COMPETITION FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2025-2026

Based on Plan No. 1043/KH-DCT dated September 26, 2025, of the Rector regarding the Organization of the Student Scientific Research Competition of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade; The Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Technology has developed the following plan for organizing the Faculty-level Student Scientific Research Competition for the academic year 2025-2026:

1. Purpose

In the 2025-2026 academic year, the Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry and Trade will organize a student scientific research competition with the following objectives:

• To promote the scientific research movement among students of the Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technology.

• To foster dynamism, creativity, and the ability to apply learned knowledge to practice.

• To encourage the spirit of scientific research and creativity among students.

• To create a beneficial scientific research platform for students.

• To identify and nurture student groups that can participate in scientific research at the university and ministerial levels.

• To hone research, report writing, presentation, and critical thinking skills.

2. Requirements

• Research topics must be novel, creative, have practical significance, and ensure scientific rigor.

• Do not plagiarize from previously published research topics or works.

3. Eligibility for the Competition

• Students currently studying at the Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering.

• Competition entries must be reviewed, selected, and approved by their supervising lecturers.

4. Competition Participation Format

• Individual students or groups of students (maximum 5 students/entrance)

• Entries must be reviewed and approved by their supervising lecturers.

5. Research Fields

• Students can choose any research direction within the research and teaching fields of the Faculty of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Control and Automation Engineering).

6. Instructions for Students to Submit Application Documents

After completing the application, students should contact their supervising lecturer to submit it.

9. Judging Panel

• Lecturers with relevant expertise.

• Number: 3–5 people/panel.

• Independent judging, according to a unified scoring scale.

10. Student Benefits

Benefits for students participating in the Faculty-level Student Scientific Research Competition:

• Receive 0.25 bonus points if their entry wins an award as stipulated in Article 2 on points for scientific research projects in the regulations for evaluating graduation thesis scores for the 2025-2026 academic year.

• Receive commendations.

• Be selected to participate in the university-level competition.

11. Student Responsibilities

Responsibility of students participating in the Faculty-level Student Scientific Research Competition:

• Students are responsible for carrying out the approved scientific research project.

• Be honest in scientific research.

• If the student's project is selected to participate in the university-level competition, the student must complete the procedures to participate at the higher level.
